This is probably the most entertaining addition to our camping menu. It’s very easy and best of all, there are no dishes to be cleaned afterwards, which in itself is a great selling point for any hot camping food.
4 paper bags
8 strips of fatty bacon
Cut each slice of bacon in half and cover the bottom of each bag with the four pieces.
Crack an egg into each bag.
Add a pinch of salt and some cracked pepper.
Carefully fold the top of the paper bag down 2 times.
Poke hole into the thick part of the bag – with a knife or scissors – and push stick through.
Position bag over the fire, close enough to get plenty of heat but far enough away so that it does not catch fire.
Wait for about 5-10 minutes, depending on the heat of the fire, until bacon is sizzling and egg is done.
Pull open bag and enjoy.
