This recipe is a different take on regular beef hamburgers. We found it while searching for a creative take on Easter lamb dinner and it was a big hit in our house. Try it and let us know what you think.
1 pound ground lamb
2 tablespoons fresh mint leaves, chopped
2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped
2 tablespoons fresh oregano, chopped
1 tablespoon chopped garlic
1 teaspoon sherry
1 teaspoon white wine vinegar
1 teaspoon molasses
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
Preheat the oven to 400 F.
Take a large bowl and combine lamb with remaining ingredients. Mix well, incorporating all of the herbs and spices. Shape into 4 burgers.
Heat a large skillet on medium high heat on the stove.
Sear the burgers on the stove top for two minutes on each side.
Once seared, transfer burgers to a cookie sheet, and place in the preheated oven.
Cook burgers for 8 to 12 minutes, depending on how rare (or cooked) you like them.
